The annual participant party.
Faithworks
serves a wide variety of people in the Androscoggin region of Maine.
From highly able displaced workers, to those facing numerous barriers
to work, often exaggerated by persistent poverty and joblessness. Many
face issues such as lack of affordable childcare; improper nutrition
and health care; poor mental health; lack of transportation; limited
awareness of opportunities for self-advancement; lack of leisure and
recreation opportunities; poor life skills; limited proficiency in English;
lack of educational credentials and employment skills; little or no
work history; teen pregnancy; substance abuse; and domestic violence.
Through
creative approaches to employment, training, and communication, Faithworks
is meeting the varying needs of its participants.
